Amazing read. Simply frigging amazing. A well done farewell to a series I simply love. It's been "two years" for them all and now it's time to get back into the swing of things. I hate to see it end but dang what a way to go!Matthew (Wolf), Christopher (Abe), Hunter (Cookie), Sam (Mozart), Faulkner (Dude), Kason (Benny) and last but not least Tex... the men that have been through hell and back are at it again. The SEALs are sent to Turkey with one goal. Rescuing/Recovering Army Reservist, Sargent Penelope Turner who along with three of her team were taken by ISIS. The three men are dead and now Penelope is being made to read on video propaganda on ISIS and its demands of others.
While the men are off on an unknown (to them) mission the woman all hunker down and try to calmly wait it out. Caroline, Alabama, Fiona, Summer, Cheyenne and Jessyka are used to the boys leaving, doing what they have to and come back. The slight apprehension on the guys part, before they left was making their woman more nervous. With Cheyenne due to give birth anytime it was just a waiting game to see if they'd be back in time.
The mission, as with so many before it takes time, planning and a helluva lot of team work. Going in and with finding Penelope they get to work. Time passes and the anxiety levels of course raise sky high. But thanks to some smart thinking on Sgt. Turner's end the SEALs find clues of her whereabouts. Then once it's confirmed its time to act.
They of course are right on target but as the say the only easy day was yesterday. So when when things go from "looking good" to "who served the crash" time starts to trickle slower and slower. But never fear, super Tex is there and calls in a few favors. Anything to try and get his team back home and safe.
The fight to get home however is not a path less taken situation. It's a "let's shift it before we lose it" kind of deal.... and it's a hard road to travel.

Protecting the Future SEAL of Protection Book 8 edition by Susan Stoker Romance eBooks Reviews
After being captured in a refugee camp in Syria, Penelope tries to stay strong and sane while she waits for reinforcements to come and rescue her. She knows her brother and best friend, Cade will never stop looking for or p ensure the government to send in troops to rescue her. She just has to hold on.
Our resident Seal team are preparing to leave on another mission. Even though leaving is routine, everyone feels like this mission is different and with so much going on ( no babies and new kids), everyone is especially worried for this new mission. It will take all of the women, including Melody and Julie to get through their men's absence and it will take all of their Seal skills for the guys to get back to their women and families.
This final book of Wolfs team was excellent. Penelope (Tiger) is fierce, sarcastic, and loyal, just like the rest of the women. It was great to see the vulnerability of the men while they work through their life and death situation. You also get glimpse into the lives of the team and what's been happening.
Great book. I'm going to miss Caroline/Wolf and the gang. Now, on to Delta Force.
Oh my goodness, I loved this story the first time I read it, and the second and the third time as well. It's still totally fabulous on the fourth read, Penelope is a wonderful character that does whatever it takes to stay alive while being held by ISIS. I'm holding my figurative breath waiting for her story, not literally because it's a little over a year out and that would just leave me blacked out over and over. So many things to love in this story, catching up with the SEAL's (including their women and CHILDREN), meeting a new SEAL team, meeting a Delta team, throw in the introduction of the guys (at least their names) from Station 7 in San Antonio. There are so many teasers for upcoming series and books, some of which are already out and available to read. I would have to say my favorite part was all of the women banding together to get through a deployment that from the start seemed to be rougher than others that the guys have gone on. Fantastic story-line and writing. Absolutely wonderful story Susan Stoker!
I loved this book. I loved this series. Thank you so much Ms. Stoker for this series. Protecting the Future reminded me so much why I pre-ordered each book after Protecting Caroline. The strength, the smarts and the perseverance of Penelope (Tiger) was so admirable that words cannot describe it. The suspense of whether all the Seals would return unscathed or at all was almost paralyzing. The movement from each Seal family to another at the beginning caused me to fear that someone was not going to return. So much so that it took me 3 days to read because I needed to carve out some time to read.
The love between each of the Seals, the love of the Seals for their families and the creation of families by birth, adoption or by the decision not to have on children because there was satisfaction in the collective children relationships is so well described and crafted. The inclusion of Julie. from Protecting Fiona, into the wives circle was phenomenal.
Thank you for this series. For the purity of love and commitment between all the characters. Though I will miss this set of characters as primary characters, I hope to see them in periodically in the Delta Force series. So I'm sad that this series is done but am so excited to read the 1st book in the Delta Force book featuring Ghost.
Excellent!! Excellent!! Excellent!!
